These terms are an agreement between you and My Passbook (“My Passbook”, “we”, “us”) covering the My Passbook mobile app and this website (together, the Service). By installing or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

My Passbook is a personal book-keeping tool. It records financial entries that you type in — accounts, transactions, transfers, budgets, recurring items, and records of money owed between you and other people. On your device it works fully offline. If you choose to create an account, your entries are also stored on our hosted backend so they can be backed up and synced to your other devices.

The Service only stores and summarises the figures you enter. Balances, totals, budgets, trends, and debt positions are arithmetic on your own data. Nothing in the Service is financial, tax, accounting, investment, or legal advice, and we do not verify that what you enter is accurate or complete.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children.

The core app is designed to keep working offline. The sync backend and this website may be slow, interrupted, unavailable, or discontinued at any time. We may add, change, or remove features. Where a change materially reduces the Service we will try to give reasonable notice in the app or by email.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero) or INR 5,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

You may stop using the Service at any time; signing out on a device returns it to a fresh guest ledger. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service.

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its “last updated” date. If a change is significant we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of India have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you use the Service from outside India, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. This choice of law does not override mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
